On Thursday, September 30th, the Board completed a project to restock our lakes with fish. The restocking was completed at a cost of $510, funded by the HOA’s Lake Maintenance budget.

Board Vice President Estela Canga and Lakes Chairperson Marcelo Garcia supervised the project and worked with Tom Griffith, immediate past Lakes Chairperson to complete the restocking.

The lakes were last restocked more than 6 years ago. Restocking the lakes involves picking up large plastic bags filled with fish and transporting them to be released into the lakes as quickly as possible to avoid over-stressing them.

We introduced a total of 600 medium-sized (3” – 5”) blue gill into the large and small lakes. The fish will have a long term recreational value for fishing and will also help maintain a healthy ecosystem in our lakes.

Thanks to all those who volunteered their time to complete this important project for our neighborhood.
